I am a combat-wounded veteran and a retired Air Force chief master sergeant. I felt extremely proud to serve my country as an American airman. As a public affairs professional, I was stationed in Spain, Germany, Italy, Japan, Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Washington D.C., honing my communication skills in a myriad of situations. Through persistence and dedication, meeting educational goals is possible.

I Love Tutoring Because

I get to help people learn about important life-skills like speaking and writing. The ability to communicate clearly is so important! I like working with students at all levels including those who are not native English speakers. I especially love helping military members and their families. As a father of four "military brats," it is especially heartwarming to be able to help their kids.

If I’m stuck, he doesn’t just repeat himself — he’ll come up with a new way to show it, sometimes even drawing little pictures to make it click. That creativity makes learning not only easier, but also more fun. Richard is also incredibly kind and patient. No matter how many questions I ask, he never makes me feel rushed or like I should already know the answer. He really cares about my progress, and that makes me feel more confident every session. I can already see huge improvements in my reading and writing thanks to his help. If you’re looking for someone who knows the SAT inside and out, but also takes the time to explain things in a way that feels encouraging and approachable, I couldn’t recommend Richard enough.
