As one of the South鈥檚 largest universities, Auburn University provides its students with more than 150 majors across 12 schools and colleges, which undergraduates declare to be an 鈥渆xcellent diversity in courses/majors.鈥� The R1 research university also offers numerous opportunities for student research, as well as 鈥渕any internship/co-op opportunities advertised and available.鈥� The school is also a Carnegie-recognized Community Engaged Institution, and its focus on outreach and engagement has led to numerous partnerships with schools, businesses, and communities, including the AuburnServes Network and Campus Kitchens Project. The school鈥檚 longstanding reputation is rooted in an institutional support system that 鈥減rovides you plenty of resources and opportunities to get a top-notch education,鈥� and students find that 鈥渘urturing education, extracurricular involvement opportunities, and professional skill development.鈥� Auburn鈥檚 history, traditions, and 鈥渃hallenging, captivating, unique and yet still timeless鈥� environment extends to the classroom, where 鈥渁pproachable鈥� professors 鈥渂ring material to life.鈥� The plethora of learning pathways available through the sheer number of courses (which include some 鈥渧ery challenging engineering programs鈥�) may be daunting, 鈥渂ut the work pays off.鈥� Professors are proud instructors (and often researchers) who students say 鈥渕ake it clear that they are here to teach [us]鈥� and 鈥済o out of their way to help you learn if you ask them.鈥� For those classes requiring additional support, 鈥済raduate student assistants are helpful in assisting professors in understanding how to make material more exciting to learn.鈥� Whatever the course of study, students feel that those in charge are 鈥渁lways very intelligent on the subjects at hand,鈥� and one simply says 鈥淚 have received a wonderful education.鈥�

Two things are typical of the average Auburn student: they鈥檙e the sort 鈥渨ho would say 鈥榟ello鈥� walking along the concourse to class,鈥� and they鈥檙e also filled with 鈥渟o much school spirit鈥� that some might consider them to be 鈥渉ighly obsessed with football.鈥� Many students hail from Alabama and are described as both 鈥渇riendly鈥� and loyal: 鈥淎labama students love Alabama football; Auburn students love Auburn.鈥� This devotion lays a strong foundation in which even the meekest voice 鈥渃an cause tangible change鈥� knowing that 鈥渢he Auburn Family has your back.鈥� The certainty of support makes Auburn a 鈥渨elcoming place鈥� where any student 鈥渨ould lend a hand in a time of need.鈥�

Student input is 鈥渧ery respected鈥� at Auburn, so the 鈥淥ld South small town feeling鈥� of campus life has an easy flow. The facilities themselves, like the recreation center, are 鈥渁mazing鈥� and there鈥檚 a 鈥済ood food atmosphere in the community.鈥� There鈥檚 also a nearby state park that provides a fun respite from university life (as do the nearby cities of Birmingham and Atlanta), and the city of Auburn 鈥渉as a safe downtown area where students can go to bars鈥� on weekends as well. Extracurricular activities abound with more than 600 student organizations, and Greek life is popular as well, though students say that 鈥渋t鈥檚 definitely possible to fit in without being a part of Greek life.鈥� Moreover, attendees have direct input in the abundant campus offerings, as the Student Government Association 鈥渋s very strong at Auburn鈥� and 鈥渟tudent involvement is high.鈥� And so far as participation goes, everybody loves Aubie the Tiger鈥斺�淔ootball Saturdays at Auburn are second to none鈥濃�攚hich means that the university鈥檚 legendary athletics 鈥渄rive a ton of campus life and help unite the student body.鈥�
