鈥淲hether it鈥檚 academically, mentally, spiritually, or physically,鈥� students note that Bellarmine University鈥檚 staff (and students) are 鈥渁lways willing to do whatever they need to help you be your best.鈥� Undergraduates report that they feel 鈥渁cademically challenged but not overwhelmed,鈥� thanks in large part to creative professors who offer 鈥渢ake the time to offer extra help, provide mentorship, and connect course material to real-world applications.鈥� Bellarmine offers 鈥渁 wide variety of fascinating discussion-based classes鈥� and 鈥渆ncourages students to get out in the community and experience new things that may supplement their education.鈥� There are 鈥渟upport systems everywhere鈥�as one of Bellarmine鈥檚 goals is to provide a holistic education.鈥� There鈥檚 even a Pioneer Scholars program that makes this 鈥渁 great school for first-generation college students.鈥� Regardless of your needs, 鈥渟tudents receive personal attention, and there is a strong sense of teamwork and belonging on campus,鈥� bolstered by a belief that 鈥渢he staff members are just as motivated to be here as the students.鈥� Small class sizes enhance the time spent with 鈥渢ruly wonderful professors who have challenged my thinking and taken the time to give one-on-one help and develop meaningful relationships.鈥� Overall, students 鈥渇eel seen, valued, and encouraged to grow鈥�[with] a well-rounded educational experience that prepares students not just for careers, but for life beyond college.鈥�

Bellarmine is a Catholic school that cultivates a 鈥渧ery welcoming and vibrant鈥� student body,鈥� including those 鈥渨ith strong religious backgrounds and more secular [ones].鈥� Students appreciate that they鈥檝e 鈥渆ncountered and participated in a lot of productive dialogue between different groups.鈥� There are also a substantial number of 鈥渘ontraditional students鈥攑arents, caregivers, first-generation college students, and career-changers鈥攚ho bring resilience, maturity, and purpose into the classroom.鈥� And given the school鈥檚 small size, 鈥渋t is not uncommon to see familiar faces often, so relationships are often built through that.鈥� Many also point to a friendliness that pervades the campus. Undergrads say their classmates are 鈥渁lways eager to start a conversation,鈥� and another student shares, 鈥淚 never have a fear of being judged for saying the wrong answer because I know that everyone is so supportive and wants to watch you grow into the person you want to be.鈥� Truly, a Bellarmine education means you鈥檒l forge 鈥渃onnections and friendships that last a lifetime.鈥�

Bellarmine undergrads 鈥渃are deeply about their academic life but aren鈥檛 consumed by it鈥� and are happy to immerse themselves in numerous extracurricular opportunities. For starters, 鈥渢here are various sports events, carnivals, fairs, and festivals [that] provide [relaxing] environments.鈥� It鈥檚 also very common for students to 鈥渁ttend workshops, volunteer in the community, or take part in鈥�talent shows or cultural celebrations.鈥� One student chimes in, 鈥淚 love all the events hosted by our Student Activity Center. A lot of them鈥�involve winning prizes, free food, or fun crafts!鈥� Bellarmine undergrads are also a pretty active lot, and they note 鈥渢he pickleball courts, tennis courts, and access to Joe Creason Park.鈥� Additionally, intramural sports are popular and 鈥渕any students鈥�build fitness into their routines, often spending time at the SURF, our campus gym, either working out or working shifts there.鈥� Beyond athletics, undergrads can attend activities like 鈥渧iolin and art sessions.鈥� Another student adds, 鈥淚 enjoy open mic nights hosted by student organizations, getting involved in our literary magazine, and joining hands with other creatives to create big events that celebrate the arts at Bellarmine.鈥� And of course, there are a range of clubs, including climbing, psychology, mock trial, Muay Thai, and boxing. All in all, 鈥渢he campus is frequently lively and the students鈥� lives consist of hard work and enjoyment of the facilities offered.鈥�
