Bradley University鈥檚 core curriculum 鈥渋s always promoting ways to help yourself and get out there.鈥� Curious, critical thinkers are encouraged through the completion of at least two experiential learning opportunities, including service learning, study abroad, or capstone experiences; in particular, 鈥渢he amount of internship opportunities that the campus has access to is extremely helpful for students who need real-world experiences in their field.鈥� Students say the 鈥渟mall class sizes and individualized experiences鈥� are 鈥渨hat the school majorly excels at,鈥� along with things like affordability. Students also highlight the 鈥渞esources to improve grades or help when you are struggling,鈥� as well as 鈥渧ast opportunities for growth in students鈥� personal and professional development.鈥� These doors open in part thanks to the 鈥渢alented professors who do a good job of explaining the course material and instilling their passion.鈥� As one enrollee explains, 鈥淥ne of my professors incorporates class discussions, documentaries, guest speakers, and field trips into each of her classes.鈥� Another concludes: 鈥淭he university promises and delivers practical experiences and education that go beyond normal academics to teach worthwhile lessons.鈥�

Bradley students are 鈥渉ighly motivated and artistically inclined,鈥� and while they 鈥渃are about academics and preparing themselves for the future,鈥�they don鈥檛 let that get in the way of having a fun and fulfilling college experience.鈥� This student body is 鈥渧ery diverse while still being tight-knit,鈥� and there is a large 鈥渕ix of personalities and passions, which means lots of unique clubs.鈥� The university is 鈥済reat at creating a welcoming environment for new and old students alike,鈥� and those students are 鈥渧ery friendly and open, which makes it a good environment to learn and connect with others.鈥� Everyone is 鈥渧ery supportive and very encouraging,鈥� and are usually 鈥渆ngaged in discussions and very social with each other.鈥� Many agree that the people are as foundational as the academics: 鈥淓veryone really does do their best to help each other out鈥�the student body really [makes] being at Bradley truly worth it.鈥�

Bradley students tend to be 鈥渋nvolved in the school, whether being in Greek life, attending sporting events, [or] going to school events.鈥� Many students 鈥渁re involved in one club or class that engages a form of visual or performing art,鈥� and 鈥渢here are almost always musical performances, art galleries, and exhibitions showcasing student work.鈥� In fact, students say there 鈥渁re pretty much always events happening,鈥� not to mention meetings and practices for more than 200 student organizations. To top it off, all of the clubs and extracurriculars 鈥渁re also really flexible which allows students to not only participate in a wide variety of activities but also hold many different leadership positions or paid job opportunities.鈥� Everything is 鈥渆ither within鈥�walking distance or within a 5鈥�10 minute drive鈥� of the Peoria, Illinois, campus, and when the weather is nice, 鈥渟tudents will spend time on the quads, reading while sitting in chairs, climbing trees, playing soccer or football, or playing lawn games.鈥� Many people make use of the gym, and 鈥渢here鈥檒l usually be people playing sports on the basketball court in there.鈥� One student says of their simple but satisfying formula, 鈥淟ife is excellent. My days are full, with activities, classes, and hanging out with friends.鈥�

The school鈥檚 Smith Career Center provides assistance to students in many ways, including the recent addition of Testing Services to provide skill assessments and evaluations for employers, students, and alumni. Of course, students are also privy to numerous job fairs, individual career advisement, career peer advisors, and on-campus job interviews. The Career Center also houses the centralized Springer Center for Internships, which administers Bradley鈥檚 internship and co-op programs. In addition, the Springer Center can help connect students with unpaid summer internships to funding sources. The school 鈥渞eally [pushes] for all students to get internships to help them get their foot into the door of their career.鈥� All of this focused assistance has a noticeable effect, with 91% of graduates either continuing their education or moving directly into jobs with a median starting salary of $65,200. And 47 percent of graduates say that they derive a high level of meaning from their jobs, according to PayScale.com. One grateful undergrad sums it up, saying, 鈥淭he Career Center has got you covered.鈥� And if that鈥檚 not enough, professors are described as 鈥渨illing to help their students find opportunities in the community and to give them one-on-one attention.鈥�
