Colorado State University excels 鈥渁t providing connection, support, and resources鈥� to its students. CSU also supports 鈥渢hose who traditionally are underrepresented in educational settings,鈥� offering 鈥渞esources for low-income and first-generation students鈥� and a robust 鈥渢ransportation system for local and commuting students.鈥� Among CSU鈥檚 academic strengths are its highly regarded College of Agricultural Sciences and its engineering school with 鈥渃utting-edge academic programs.鈥� First-year engineering students are organized into 30-person cohorts so they 鈥渟hare the same engineering classes for the first year, encouraging engagement and inducing familiarity between the students,鈥� building strong academic and social connections early. Experiential learning is a defining feature of many CSU programs. One student highlights opportunities to 鈥渨alk through construction job sites, visit and explore how reservoirs work, along with going on field trips to see how steel is created.鈥� And one student in animal sciences recalls a lab where they 鈥渢ook care of calves and learned how to feed them and make sure they look healthy and are growing well.鈥� Students report that CSU offers students 鈥減lenty of support for career planning and job opportunities. They also have many programs to help those in need鈥�whether that be financial, mental, or emotional support.鈥� As one student summarizes, 鈥淐SU is a fantastic school. I feel immensely supported and happy here.鈥�

At CSU, students are supportive of each other and 鈥渧ery friendly.鈥� As one student explains, 鈥淭here is a big focus on helping out the 鈥榬amily,鈥� aka the Ram family.鈥� Rams also value making friends with those who are different from themselves and appreciate that CSU 鈥渁llows for free exploration of differing views and cultures.鈥� Students say there鈥檚 鈥渢ons of diversity in the aspects of culture, race, religion, ethnicity, political views, etc鈥�.CSU all comes together as one and cheers for each other and helps one another.鈥� Students describe their peers as 鈥渋ntelligent, motivated, and overall positive people.鈥� CSU 鈥渋s totally an outdoorsy school located in a great area,鈥� and 鈥渋t is quite rare to meet someone who doesn鈥檛 enjoy being outside in some way.鈥� Rams are also united by the activities that comprise CSU鈥檚 campus culture, such as 鈥渃lubs, cultural organizations, or sports, which help build a sense of community.鈥� In short, 鈥淐SU has a community with an emphasis on supporting each other. 鈥楻ams always take care of Rams,鈥� is an important phrase, taken seriously.鈥�

鈥淭he campus is BEAUTIFUL, and there is no shortage of clubs and groups to participate in,鈥� says one enthusiastic Ram, as CSU students are known. Student organizations cover a wide range of interests and identities, like the 鈥淎sian Pacific American Cultural Center, which has given me a meaningful space to connect with others,鈥� and groups like Wildlife Society, Mountain Riders, Biology Collection, and Polo Club. Off campus, 鈥渁 huge part of the culture here in Fort Collins is outdoor activities, so most students participate in skiing, biking, hiking, camping, climbing, and many other outdoor sports.鈥� Warmer seasons also see Rams fly fishing and swimming in Horsetooth Reservoir, and many like to 鈥済o to downtown Fort Collins and connect with the community.鈥� During the day, students 鈥渆xplore nearby caf茅s and shops,鈥� and those looking for nightlife enjoy 鈥済oing to the bars in town.鈥� Overall, Rams enjoy a 鈥渓ife at school [that] is very busy and full of constant activities and opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, social life, and all the beauty Fort Collins has to offer.鈥�
