Florida International University lives up to its name with 鈥渟trong programs in business, engineering, and international relations, making it a great place for students pursuing global careers.鈥� Students appreciate the collaborative, interdisciplinary atmosphere on campus: 鈥淵ou鈥檒l see pre-health students exchanging study tips with engineering majors, business students teaming up with artists on creative projects, and social science students sharing ideas with future tech innovators.鈥� There鈥檚 also a lauded flexibility, whether that鈥檚 for studying in-person or online or as seen in the 鈥済reat support system [for] physical, mental, or emotional needs.鈥� Additionally, a steady influx of emails helps to communicate opportunities like 鈥渋nternships or mentorships and career fairs.鈥� The school鈥檚 location in Miami is advantageous for the professional connections鈥攖here are 鈥渢ons of networking and job opportunities in a major global city鈥濃�攁nd the academic experience. Instructors often integrate the city into their classes, whether that鈥檚 鈥渨alking around a new part of South Florida every Wednesday for six hours, and learning about the history of Miami,鈥� getting 鈥渆xtra credit points for participating in community events,鈥� or having 鈥渁 blast鈥� learning about art directly from artists at local museums. Overall, students praise the 鈥渧ast knowledge of the educators鈥� here who 鈥渂ring real-world experience into the classroom, which makes learning more engaging and applicable.鈥�

鈥淭he campus is buzzing with activity鈥� and there鈥檚 鈥渟omething for everyone,鈥� whether that鈥檚 tailgating during football season, building a race car with the Panther Motorsports club, or taking fitness classes like yoga, spin, and Zumba. Outdoor activities are plentiful and include surfing, kayaking at FIU鈥檚 waterfront Biscayne Bay Campus, or volunteering for a beach clean-up. Students say that while 鈥淕reek life exists, the absence of a designated Greek row hinders its visibility,鈥� and some wish the scene were stronger. That doesn鈥檛 mean that the energy on this campus is lacking. FIU offers 鈥渋ncredible school spirit,鈥� which is 鈥渙n full display鈥� during athletic games, and the on-campus concerts are 鈥渁 great experience.鈥� Students often gather at the Graham Center, where there is 鈥渁lways music playing and there are restaurants and lounge areas.鈥� Many students enjoy exploring everything Miami has to offer, including museums, restaurants, parks, and nightlife. In short, 鈥淚t鈥檚 a fast-paced environment, but it has a laid-back, Miami vibe that makes it feel balanced.鈥�
