Lehigh University is an 鈥渁cademically rigorous school that challenges you to adapt to real world scenarios.鈥� Students appreciate the many resources and opportunities offered, including 鈥渆xtremely advanced and high-tech鈥� lab facilities and equipment and numerous 鈥渞esearch opportunities for undergrad students looking for field experience.鈥� There are many standout programs, including fully funded study abroad opportunities, Impact Fellowships that match students to sustainable development projects, and the United Nations Youth Representative Program, which allows students to work with NGOs and speak on the floor of the General Assembly. Professors here are 鈥渆xtremely helpful鈥� and many 鈥渨ill allow you to get involved in their research, even as a first-year student.鈥� Professors also 鈥渢ry to incorporate their personal research or experiences into [the] lecture, which makes it extremely engaging.鈥� As one student elaborates, 鈥淭here is nothing quite like seeing someone talk about something they are truly passionate about.鈥� Professors offer 鈥渓ots of opportunities for students to get extra help,鈥� including 鈥減lenty of office hours and group study sessions.鈥� Some 鈥渨ill slow down or adjust their course plans to ensure students are learning.鈥� The school also offers an 鈥渋ncredibly strong鈥� alumni network that 鈥渉elps many current students prepare for and land career opportunities.鈥� All in all, the 鈥渁cademics are tough and definitely make you work hard, but they one hundred percent make you better.鈥�

Students here are 鈥渋ncredibly academic and driven but also love to have fun,鈥� with one student adding, 鈥淪tudents are just as passionate about having fun as they are about their grades.鈥� During the week, 鈥渢he library is always packed,鈥� and on the weekends, students 鈥渢end to let off steam.鈥� Lehigh is 鈥渘ot huge, so you become quite close to your peers, especially in your class/major.鈥� Students note that many of their peers are from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York but that the school is 鈥渂ecoming more diverse and every class [is] bigger than the [last].鈥� Another student agrees, saying, 鈥淭here is a growing presence of students internationally and from other states in the U.S.鈥� Students are 鈥渙pen to meeting new people and trying new experiences, which creates a great environment for personal growth.鈥� It鈥檚 a place where 鈥渕ost people are welcoming and friendly, especially when you join a club that links you to people with shared interests.鈥� As one student sums up, 鈥淲henever I am confused or need guidance, the person sitting next to me is always happy to help. Lehigh is very challenging academically but offers a very supportive and friendly environment for us to succeed.鈥�

Lehigh鈥檚 鈥渟tunning and beautiful鈥� campus offers students plenty of activities and a thriving social scene. There is 鈥渁 club, organization, and society for just about every type of student.鈥� Some popular standouts include Cheese Club, where 鈥渁ll we do is eat cheese and learn about cheese,鈥� and the Outing Club, which offers 鈥渁 lot of very cool off-campus trips, from camping to whitewater rafting.鈥� Many students also enjoy intramural sports, cultural clubs, and working out at the gym. While 鈥淕reek life is pretty popular鈥� and some students 鈥渆njoy their weekends by partying,鈥� there are also plenty of substance-free events. For example, on the weekends, Lehigh After Dark hosts 鈥渇un events like carnivals, movie nights, trivia nights, and Wingo (wings and bingo),鈥� which 鈥渙ften have a full house.鈥� Lehigh鈥檚 鈥渟chool spirit is high,鈥� and its athletic traditions bring students together, like 鈥淩ivalry Week鈥� when the football team plays against their longstanding rival, Lafayette College, brings students together. The plethora of activities offered on campus allows 鈥測ou to find your people easily.鈥�

Lehigh University鈥檚 priority 鈥渋s giving students the best chance for professional success.鈥� The Center for Career & Professional Development works with students on their individual plans every step of the way; the Class of 2021 had 97 percent of students as employed, continuing their education, or pursuing military service or volunteering within six months of graduation, and 94 percent completed at least one internship or experiential learning opportunity. Fall and spring career expos help students make connections, and the alumni network 鈥渁lways reaches out to the school and are willing to help out current students.鈥� The school offers a Career Success Studio for juniors and seniors. It鈥檚 a microlearning course that integrates career development into a learning community that includes employer perspective and feedback and results in a career management credential that can be displayed on a student鈥檚 resume or LinkedIn profile.
