Nashville鈥檚 Lipscomb University is a private, Christian liberal arts college offering more than two hundred undergraduate majors and minors. This faith-based, service-focused school 鈥渄oes a great job at building relationships [between] students and faculty.鈥� With the university鈥檚 SALT (Service and Learning Together) program, among others, the curriculum strives to find 鈥渦nique and innovative ways to help its students learn鈥� by incorporating service and experiential learning into more traditional courses. Many classes ask students 鈥渢o go places around Nashville鈥� and then discuss their experiences in class. On the whole, Lipscomb 鈥渆ncourages growth of your worldview鈥� and seeks to ensure that students 鈥渉ave been challenged to think outside the classroom鈥� by 鈥渆ngaging within the community and then engaging with [their] career fields.鈥�

Lipscomb professors 鈥渁re very involved in your academic life鈥� and they are 鈥渁lways reassuring you and always motivating you to do better.鈥� One student adds, 鈥淣ot only do they mentor you through the college process, but they also serve as life mentors,鈥� caring 鈥渘ot only about academics but also [the] spiritual life of students.鈥� Others describe the faculty as 鈥渆nergetic, lively, and conversational.鈥� They 鈥渟how their faith both inside and outside the classroom,鈥� 鈥渁re super accessible if you need any help,鈥� and 鈥淸care] about each individual student as more than a statistic.鈥�

Those who attend the 鈥渞elatively small鈥� Lipscomb are 鈥渉ighly driven, passionate, and individualistic,鈥� and 鈥渢here is an evident community among the student body.鈥� One student shares, 鈥淚t's comforting and reassuring to be able to walk around campus and pass people who smile at you or say 鈥榟i鈥欌�攄espite whether or not you know them.鈥� The school has a 鈥渨ide range of religions and ideas despite it being a Christian university,鈥� although many students here 鈥渁ssist at church or are involved in some form of spiritual leadership.鈥� Overall, 鈥渢here is an appreciation of authenticity across the board and that really discourages a lot of misconduct鈥� on campus.

For students here, 鈥渄oing homework is a way of hanging out with people,鈥� so you鈥檒l find them studying either at the library or 鈥渙utside when the weather is nice.鈥� When undergrads 鈥渁ren鈥檛 in class or at work they usually congregate in the student center,鈥� which is 鈥渘ormally packed鈥攊n a good way.鈥� Off-campus, there 鈥渁re constantly activities around Nashville,鈥� and the 鈥渘on-party environment鈥� of this 鈥渟afe, small鈥� campus is also privy to 鈥済enuinely enjoyable events and plenty of smaller communities to choose from,鈥� including 鈥淪alsa in the Square or dodgeball every weekend.鈥� The school itself is 鈥渁lways very clean and on top of things. They see tasks that need to be done and start immediately.鈥�
