Although it is true that Molloy College, a private institution in Long Island, is 鈥渁ffordable鈥� and 鈥渃ommunity oriented,鈥� students are also strongly drawn to the school鈥檚 鈥済reat reputation in the field of nursing鈥� as well as 鈥渁mazing education program.鈥� For business majors, the Business Honors Program features 鈥渇aculty members [who] are former CEO鈥檚 and Wall Street Executives.鈥� Students point out that 鈥淢olloy is an institution that is growing in size but has not lost any of its small school charm.鈥� Contributing to that charm are Molloy鈥檚 鈥渟mall student to teacher ratio,鈥� 鈥渁 relaxed and comfortable environment to learn,鈥� and 鈥減ersonalized service centered around students.鈥� Another of the school鈥檚 assets is the high caliber of its 鈥渆xtremely caring鈥� and 鈥渢ruly knowledgeable and passionate鈥� professors who are 鈥渧ery dedicated in helping the students reach their maximum potential.鈥� One student raves, 鈥淢y professors have real world experience and provide valuable networking capabilities.鈥�

Although the 鈥渕ajority of the people commute鈥� at Molloy, this does not seem to detract from the sense of a 鈥渧ery tight knit community鈥� and 鈥渇riendly environment.鈥� At Molloy 鈥淲orking parents fit in well and we have a very culturally diverse campus.鈥� Many students at the commuter school may also fit the description of 鈥渁 hard-working Long Island kid, juggling school and work and a life.鈥� While it seems that 鈥渕ajors mostly stick together,鈥� students proclaim that 鈥淎ll the students here are extremely friendly鈥� and that 鈥淪tudents are accepted here with whatever they bring to the table.鈥� Even though 鈥渁 lot of people tend to go to class, study or hang out on campus and then go home,鈥� students note that 鈥渢here are always opportunities to meet new people at events, clubs, or through mutual friends if you stick around after classes.鈥�

As a largely commuter school, there鈥檚 a sense at Molloy that 鈥渢here isn鈥檛 really any college life there.鈥� Students point out that 鈥淟ife in school is very basic if you are not involved in a team or club.鈥� According to one student, 鈥淪ince many people commute to and from campus, the party scene tends to be at the sports houses and clubs in the surrounding towns.鈥� This social dynamic may change with the addition of 鈥渘ew dorms that house about 200 students.鈥� Another game changer is the new 鈥渟tudent center known as the public square.鈥� 鈥淩ight now, a simulation room is being installed in the Public Square so that students can play video games on their free time on campus.鈥� Until that day arrives, there are 鈥渂ook sales, holiday galas, special dinners, clubs of all kinds, sports, art events, presentations at the new theater, and鈥�a variety of community services鈥� that can keep students entertained. Students also attend rugby or basketball games and take advantage of the 鈥渇ree shuttle that goes to the mall and back on weekends if you live on campus.鈥�
