Nichols College provides a business- and leadership-oriented education rooted in a liberal arts foundation. Here, whether students opt for a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or a Bachelor of Arts, all 1,200 attendees are required to complete an internship or experiential learning opportunity before they graduate. This, combined with 鈥渢he rigorous coursework Nichols develops鈥� and plenty of 鈥渃areer help services and professional development seminars,鈥� ensures that students have 鈥渢he mindset of getting ready to work.鈥� From TA positions for credit to internships, 鈥淣ichols College does everything in its power to assure [you] get the connections you need in order to succeed after graduation.鈥�

Meanwhile, faculty at Nichols strive to help you succeed before graduation, offering 鈥渁n open environment that encourages discussion and questions of material.鈥� They are 鈥渨ell trained in what they teach and know how to help students succeed,鈥� often incorporating speakers within various professions to supplement classroom learnings and 鈥渁pplications of concepts that facilitate learning and lead the way to intellectual discussions.鈥� They are also 鈥渧ery good at breaking [out of] your comfort zone due to all the group projects and presentations.鈥� Additionally, the classes themselves are small, which means 鈥渋t is easier to ask questions and participate.鈥� Overall, 鈥渓earning is really valued at Nichols,鈥� and if students are unable to make office hours, professors are 鈥渕ost likely to make time for you when your own schedule allows.鈥�

Everyone at Nichols 鈥渋s very friendly and wants to expand their horizons,鈥� which creates 鈥渁 tight knit community that has each other鈥檚 backs.鈥� While 鈥渢hey are an independent people who take every opportunity that they get,鈥� students say that 鈥減eers at Nichols 鈥� are the epitome of a family.鈥� Members of that family are quick to admit that the school could benefit from more diversity, though, mentioning that the biggest differences come in 鈥渂etween those that play sports and those that are involved with clubs and organizations on campus and those that are strictly academic.鈥� But outside of that, they sing praises of their fellow Nichols Bison, calling them 鈥減atient,鈥� 鈥渦nique,鈥� 鈥渋ntelligent,鈥� 鈥済enerous,鈥� and 鈥渆mpowering.鈥�

Nichols is located in a town so small that some say 鈥測ou will need a car to get anywhere interesting.鈥� This isn鈥檛 a bad thing for students, however, as they say it leads to a culture that鈥檚 鈥渓ike a huge family鈥� because 鈥渆veryone knows everyone.鈥� It 鈥渄oesn鈥檛 matter who you are 鈥� we are always hanging out or doing homework.鈥� In fact, 鈥渨hen the weather is nice, everyone is on the quad.鈥� Those looking for physical activity can rest easy, as Nichols 鈥渙ffers intramural and club sports that are competitive,鈥� but there are also 鈥渁 variety of clubs for almost every major.鈥� So, while most students 鈥渉ave classes the majority of the morning and afterwards 鈥� do homework or study,鈥� they do use their downtime to 鈥済o to a lot of athletic events or club sponsored events.鈥� Additionally, there are 鈥渧ideo game tournaments in the dorms at all times,鈥� and students often just 鈥渉ang out with friends, watch TV, cook, or drive off campus to get food鈥� to pass the time.
