The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford 鈥渋s a cozy campus nestled in rural Pennsylvania鈥� that has 鈥渢he small town feel with the big city name鈥� and 鈥渁 friendly environment that encourages students to stay.鈥� At UPB, 鈥淓ducation comes first. No matter the school activity, exceptions are made in order to complete school work.鈥� Students rave about the familial atmosphere, which is 鈥渇riendly, welcoming, and accepting of all types.鈥� 鈥淢y school is all about bringing everyone together and making them feel like family,鈥� says one Criminal Justice major. This cozy campus is small enough that 鈥測ou never get lost and you have a very good way to access your professors if needed.鈥� UPB鈥檚 鈥渟mall learning community鈥� is a place 鈥渨here you know almost everyone and the people are very friendly.鈥� The small sizes of classes 鈥渁re a major strength.鈥� 鈥淭he professors at this university are extremely well versed in their specific fields of study鈥� and 鈥渁re very easy to engage in for help.鈥� One student reports that 鈥淧rofessors recognize when students try and reward them appropriately - no good deed goes unnoticed.鈥� The teaching methods are 鈥渋nteractive鈥� and students feel 鈥渁 part of the learning rather than just a fly on the wall.鈥�

鈥淐ountry town = country people鈥� at UPB. Most students 鈥渁re from the area so mostly all of us know what the area is like and how to have fun.鈥� 鈥淎 lot of people actually come from surrounding areas such as Philly and New Jersey,鈥� one student says, while also noting that 鈥渢here are many people studying abroad here or from other countries such as China.鈥� Your typical student 鈥渓ives on campus, is friendly, usually is involved in a sport or intramurals, and can get along with anyone.鈥� 鈥淎t Pitt Bradford you are a person with a name a face and people are going to know you, you鈥檙e not just a number,鈥� a Criminal Justice major explains. UPB is an easy place to make connections, as 鈥渁ll students here need to do is say 鈥楬i鈥� to another student and you can be instant friends.鈥� 鈥淚've learned that all you really have to do is introduce yourself and find something in common with them,鈥� another student confirms.

鈥淟ife at school is always entertaining鈥� at The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, although 鈥渟ince it is a smaller campus in a rural setting, you have to create your own fun.鈥� For example, students enjoy 鈥渂owling for fun, or play paintball鈥� and 鈥減eople are always out and about playing pick up games of football, sand volleyball, soccer, and basketball.鈥� 鈥淭here are clubs for most majors and for a vast majority of interests from MMA to Anime to Star Wars,鈥� one student explains. 鈥淔or fun, people mainly hang out together鈥� in this 鈥渢ight-knit community.鈥� On campus there 鈥渁re a lot of activities put on by the school and by the large number of clubs鈥� from 鈥渁n open mic night to a drag show we had last year!鈥� Off campus, 鈥渢he town does have a lot of events though and that brings the college students out into the community!鈥�
