The University of Southern California boasts 鈥渁 dynamic and culturally diverse campus located in a world-class city which is equally dynamic and culturally diverse.鈥� Everything related to cinema is 鈥渢op notch.鈥� Among the other 150 or so majors here, programs in journalism, business, engineering, and architecture are particularly notable. The honors programs are 鈥渧ery good鈥� too. One of the best perks about USC is its 鈥渓arge and enthusiastic alumni network.鈥� Becoming 鈥減art of the Trojan Family鈥� is a great way to jump-start your career because USC graduates love to hire other USC graduates. 鈥淎lmost everyone talks about getting job offers based solely on going to USC.鈥� 鈥淭he school seems to run very smoothly, with few administrative issues ever being problematic enough to reach the awareness of the USC student community,鈥� says an international relations major. The top brass 鈥渋s a bit mysterious and heavy handed,鈥� though. Also, 鈥渢hey milk every dime they can get from you.鈥� Academically, some students call the general education courses 鈥渁 complete waste of time鈥� and note that some professors 鈥渟eem to just be there because they want to do research.鈥� Overall, though, students report professors 鈥渕ake the subject matter come alive鈥� and make themselves 鈥渧ery available鈥� outside the classroom. 鈥淢y academic experience at USC is fabulous,鈥� gushes an aerospace engineering major. 鈥淚 would not choose any other school.鈥�

USC students are 鈥渋ntensely ambitious,鈥� and while there are some 鈥渃omplete slackers,鈥� many students hit the books 鈥渉arder than they let on.鈥� While some say that 鈥渢he stereotypical USC student is a surfer fraternity bro or a tan, trendy sorority girl from the O.C.鈥� and note that there are 鈥減rissy Los Angeles types鈥� and 鈥渟poiled鈥� kids who are 鈥渆xtremely good looking,鈥� many insist that, 鈥渃ontrary to popular belief, USC has immense diversity.鈥� One first-year adds, 鈥淣o one cares what your orientation is.鈥� In some circles, 鈥渇amily income and the brands of clothes you wear definitely matter.鈥� And while 鈥渢here are quite a few who come from mega-wealth, there are also many who are here on a great deal of financial aid.鈥� And there are 鈥渓ots of nerds,鈥� too, along with a smattering of 鈥渂and geeks and film freaks.鈥� Whatever your background, the one thing that unites everyone here is 鈥渢ons of Trojan pride.鈥�

On campus, life is 鈥渧ibrant.鈥� There are more than 850 student organizations. Theatrical and musical productions are 鈥渆xcellent.鈥� School spirit is 鈥渆xtreme鈥� and 鈥渋nfectious.鈥� 鈥淔ootball games are huge.鈥� 鈥淭here is absolutely nothing that can top watching our unbelievable football team throttle the competition,鈥� says a merciless sophomore. 鈥淒rinking is a big part of the social scene鈥� as well. 鈥淲e definitely have some of the sickest parties ever,鈥� claims an impressed first-year. 鈥淕reek life is very big鈥� and, on the weekends, a strong contingent of students 鈥渞eligiously鈥� visits 鈥淭he Row, the street lined with all the fraternity and sorority houses.鈥� Students also have 鈥渢he sprawling city of Los Angeles as their playground.鈥� It鈥檚 an 鈥渆clectic place with both high and low culture and some of the best shopping in the world.鈥� 鈥淗ollywood clubs and downtown bars鈥� are popular destinations. Art exhibits, concerts, and 鈥渉ip restaurants鈥� are everywhere. However, 鈥測ou need a car.鈥� Los Angeles traffic may be 鈥渁 buzz kill,鈥� but students report that it鈥檚 considerably preferable to the 鈥渁bsolutely terrible鈥� public transportation system.

The USC campus is 鈥渆xtremely diverse鈥�: the school enrolls more international students than any other U.S. university. The 鈥済reat weather鈥� of southern California goes without saying (the majority of students here are from in-state), and the sports scene here is huge. USC 鈥渋s all about school spirit, great academics, Greek life, and football.鈥� There is plenty to keep students occupied outside of the classroom, including clubs, organizations, theatre, and music groups, and 鈥渢he school does a really good job of bringing speakers and other events to campus.鈥� 鈥淭here really is always something to do... Even walking to class everyday is awesome because you can definitely feel the vibe of an active campus.鈥� Many academic aspects and social aspects 鈥渃ombine for an ideal college experience鈥� at USC, and 鈥渆veryone can find their niche.鈥�
