The many students at The University of Tulsa, a small private research university, find it to be the total package. After all, it combines 鈥渢he friendly environment of a smaller university and the academic, employment, extracurricular, and service opportunities of a larger university.鈥 It also does a tremendous job of fostering an atmosphere that鈥檚 鈥渃onducive to collaboration and growth.鈥 In general, students describe the academics as 鈥渃hallenging.鈥 And a number of undergrads emphasize TU鈥檚 鈥渟trong engineering school,鈥 which thoroughly prepares students for 鈥渨ork[ing] in the industry, especially [within the] energy [sector].鈥 All undergraduates, no matter their major, benefit from 鈥渟mall class sizes.鈥 In turn, this affords students the opportunity to build 鈥渃lose relationships...with [the] faculty,鈥 full of professors who 鈥渁re great resources for [both] internships and real-world advice.鈥 Aside from being great contacts, Tulsa professors are 鈥渧ery knowledgeable and passionate about their subjects.鈥 They also 鈥渕ake their students a priority鈥 and they鈥檙e 鈥渧ery accessible outside of class.鈥 As one student expounds, 鈥淢any of my professors frequently invite students to their office hours and remind us of their availability.... [It鈥檚 clear they] care about my academic experience, career readiness, and about me as a person.鈥
