While 鈥渢he classes are challenging鈥� at Wilkes, the professors are 鈥渆xtremely considerate to your thoughts and goals.鈥� In fact, students give faculty an 鈥淎+ rating.鈥� They also state that classes are 鈥渟mall enough that there is plenty of time 鈥� to solidify information,鈥� and one student points out that 鈥渘ot only do the professors take the time to ensure clarity, but many of them even make a strong effort to get to know each student personally.鈥� Students appreciate the more personal education and find that it leads to an 鈥渋nteractive and inclusive college experience.鈥� Another praises the 鈥渁mazing resources,鈥� which include 鈥渁mazing networking opportunities.鈥� That might be due to the fact that, even with the breadth of study options鈥攖he school has 鈥渁 large number of academic programs" ranging from pharmacy to nursing to engineering鈥斺�渆veryone here genuinely wants you to succeed.鈥�

The campus has a 鈥渧ery homey鈥� feel, and 鈥渢here is always chatter and laughter鈥� to be heard between classes. Hailing 鈥渇rom all over the USA and [bringing] a wide variety of backgrounds,鈥� the student body offers a 鈥渄iversity [that] creates a very close-knit and accepting group of peers.鈥� Furthermore, the students are 鈥渞espectable and polite.鈥� As one student explains, 鈥淓veryone is very welcoming and willing to talk to you.鈥� And that鈥檚 something to be appreciated since 鈥渘o one is afraid to ask questions鈥� at Wilkes. Students cite that 鈥渆veryone knows everyone,鈥� which means 鈥渢here is a place for everyone, no matter how different they are.鈥� Overall, the campus is filled with students who just 鈥渞eally want to be there.鈥�

Students agree: 鈥淭here is always something to do at Wilkes outside of studying for your next quiz or exam.鈥� On campus, Wilkes students enjoy school events such as casino and bingo nights and 鈥渃ountless clubs and activities, which give the students opportunities to interact and form relationships.鈥� Additionally, students spend their time hiking, working out, playing video games, or just 鈥渧isiting places around [Wilkes-Barre].鈥� While some note that the surrounding city has room for improvement, one student reassures, 鈥淚 feel completely safe no matter what time of day due to the way the university takes precautions.鈥� Therefore, popular haunts around town include a multitude of restaurants, a bowling alley, and a movie theater that often offers students discounted tickets.
