At Wittenberg University, 鈥渉igh academic standards and a dedication to research鈥� are the norm and there鈥檚 鈥渉igh morale among the students.鈥� Unique opportunities like Witt in Washington and Witt in Poland immerse students in regions, whether that鈥檚 a semester spent interning at embassies, museums, or government organizations like the FBI, or 24 days exploring the cultural and political ideology of the Polish people. Back on the 鈥済orgeous campus,鈥� small classes yield 鈥渆xcellent attention [being] paid to students,鈥� and the 鈥渆xtremely engaging professors鈥� are 鈥渃ommitted to helping students both in and out of the classroom.鈥� As one student notes, 鈥淚 feel like I am learning from my best friends.鈥� The low student-teacher ratio 鈥渞eally elevates the learning environment and makes classes far more interesting than large schools.鈥� It also encourages 鈥渟tudents to build our own ideas and projects.鈥� Perhaps this is why one undergrad concludes, 鈥淲ittenberg is a place where students can develop themselves as a whole person鈥攁cademically, professionally, and socially.鈥�

The student body is 鈥渆ngaged, curious, and eager to learn鈥� and sees itself as a 鈥渢ight-knit community.鈥� The overall population tends to be perceived as 鈥渨hite, from Ohio, [and] middle class,鈥� but undergrads suggest that 鈥淲ittenberg has a wonderful variety of students鈥� in terms of demographics (29% identifying as people of color), region (from the South, New England, and abroad), and generation (12% of attendees being first-generation collegiates). More importantly, attendees report that all 鈥渟tudents here are welcomed in with ease.鈥� So, while some say 鈥渋t is hard to describe a typical student,鈥� they agree that the atmosphere is uniformly 鈥渇riendly鈥� and 鈥渙utgoing,鈥� making it easy to find your own group. In all, Wittenberg is a place where all you have to do to make a friend is 鈥渟tep out and say hello!鈥�

Life at this 鈥渂eautiful school鈥� is very busy. After all, the typical student is often 鈥渋nvolved and overcommitted in at least two clubs and a sport or Greek life.鈥� In other words, these undergrads really embody the 鈥渨ork hard and play hard鈥� mentality as they join groups ranging from Club Hockey and Kayak Club to the Anime Club and multiple a cappella groups. Some do caution that it can feel as though people 鈥減arty every day,鈥� and it can be hard to fit in with that crowd. However, students also describe how they like to 鈥渏ust hang out and spend time with each other,鈥� going to see 鈥渃omedians or musicians [who] come to entertain,鈥� or partaking in Witt Late Night activities like escape rooms, curling, and glow raves. For the outdoor enthusiasts itching to get off campus, there are plenty of options available, including 鈥渁 reservoir to swim in, two playgrounds/parks, and three national parks for hiking.鈥� Ask one student jovially asks about all their offerings, 鈥淲hat don鈥檛 we do?鈥�
